  1. Growing up in town instead of in the Seam may have greatly affected Peeta's values in terms of the Hunger Games in comparison to Katniss's. Katniss has always had to put her family first and care for them because they can't take care of themselves. Peeta, however, is not as fond of his family and has had the leisure to sit back and allow them to support him. Peeta doesn't have the drive to come home to District 12 like Katniss does. Peeta is instead going to focus on keeping as close to his values and morals as he can. He feels that if he remains as pure of heart as possible he is rebelling against the Capitol in his own effective way. He thinks that this is the best way to avoid being simply a piece in their games. His strategy is to be in a Seperate Peace, while Katniss plans to pull through doing what ever it takes.

  2. Peeta and Katniss have similar roots, but they view the world in completely different ways. Katniss has always supported her family single handedly, while Peeta has always had a better support system. Peeta has always had a less difficult life and has never seen the real affects of the Seam, his life has been more sheltered. Katniss has had to face the effects of the Seam head on and her life has been filled with trials and tribulation. This would effect their view on the Games tremendously. Peeta wouldn't look at the Games as if they were as dangerous or as risky as Katniss would see them. Katniss's survival was vital for her family, because without her it seemed as though the end would come for them. Peeta on the other hand wasn't to thrilled with his family and the way that the household was run so in a way he didn't care as much whether he lived or died. This could either hurt or help them in the Games and it will undoubtedly hurt themselves, but the effect on each other is unknown.
