  1. Chapter 14 was filled with many events that could have made or broken the game for Katniss. The tracker jackers were yet another obstacle that the group had to face, but it gave one of the tributes a chance to gain some ground which it was so important at this point. This is why, I personally believe that the most important part was when Rue pointed the nest out to Katniss. Rue could have taken needed advantage over the rest of the tributes, but she chose to give Katniss some help, which helped her in the end and in the immediate future. Even though Katniss was also stung, she lived when others did not. This may have changed the game entirely for Katniss and for Rue. This also reflected on the character of the two tributes.

  2. This is a good point. When Katniss released the nest, she and Rue gained the upper in hand, for a short time. This was a pivotal move for Katniss because she was no longer simply running and hiding from the careers. Katniss became an actual contender in the Games after this event.

  3. The dropping of the nest is a really pivotal point. It shows how Katniss can attack the others, and she does not feel kindly towards Petta. This is also her first offensive move with Rue's help, which causes them to become a team. The tracker jackers hurt the Careers and kill two contestants, this event also helps prove Petta's still on Katniss's "side".
